Senior Legal Counsel

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with all relevant internal and third-party stakeholders to review, draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts across multiple jurisdictions including Confidentiality Agreements, CMO agreements, Vendor Agreements, Product development agreements, Strategic partnership agreements, Consultancy agreements, Quality/technical agreements, Distribution Agreements, Co-Branding agreements. 

  • Prepare, maintain and update contract templates for the negotiation of contracts.  Ensure they are compliant with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and relevant business requirements. 

  • Enhance and review the organisation’s contract management system to ensure 

  • Maximum time and cost efficiencies. 

  • Provide prompt and commercially-focused legal advice to relevant stakeholders in relation to the commercial contracts and related-issues e.g data protection, transport and logistics, insurance, company law and regulatory matters involving pharma. .

  • Foster and develop productive relationships with key stakeholders and business units, and with relevant third-party stakeholders. 

  • Provide training to internal staff on key aspects of commercial contracts if and where required. 

  • Assist with ad hoc duties and legal projects as required. 

  Key Skills & Qualifications
  • Qualified lawyer. Minimum of 10 years’ PQE

  • Relevant Pharmaceutical industry experience.

  • Excellent contract drafting, review and negotiation skills required, including relevant contracts experience as discussed above.

  • Experience of the Health Products Regulatory Authority regime and Wholesale Distribution Authorisation process. 

  • Proven ability to positively engage with and influence relevant stakeholders - both internal and external.

  • Strong team-player but also self-motivated and strong decision maker.

  • Excellent attention to detail and highly-analytical.

  • Proven ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, global environment.

  • Commercial, adaptable, solutions-focused.
