Senior Finance Analyst

Description:

My client is a prominent renewable energy organization specializing in sustainable power projects and is seeking a skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join their North American team.

You will play a vital role in the Finance team, focusing on validating and quantifying project financial models. Responsibilities include supporting corporate-level analysis, preparing budgets, and contributing to fund valuation models.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to validate project assumptions.
  • Lead capital committee SME sign-off processes.
  • Develop and optimize financial models for executive and capital committee approvals.
  • Prepare financial forecasts and conduct cash flow analyses.
  • Collaborate with teams to evaluate potential development opportunities.
  • Evaluate M&A opportunities, including valuation, due diligence, and negotiation.
  • Assist in preparing presentations and investment memos.
  • Evaluate financial models for new renewable technologies and markets.
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of quarterly reporting requirements.
  • Prepare and update corporate-level models for budgeting and valuation purposes.
  • Facilitate corporate audit processes (IFRS) and SOX compliance.
  • Assist in training project financial analysts in financial modeling and capital committee approval documentation.

Required skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or a related field.
  • Preference for 3-5 years of relevant experience in Banking, Energy or Renewables
  • Experience supporting M&A transactions is preferred.
  • Proficient in financial modeling with excellent quantitative analysis skills
  • Strong financial analysis and Excel is required
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Capable of analyzing large amounts of financial data and communicating key results.
  • Proactive, both individually and collaboratively within a team.
  • Highly organized, follows procedures, and meets timelines.
  • Preference for experience at a utility, fund, or investment bank.
