Reporting to the CEO, this is a great opportunity to lead the credit function of Ireland's first digital mortgage lender. The role would suit an experienced and enthusiastic professional with a record of relevant experience in retail lending who is looking for a highly visible role at the heart of our business. You'll work closely with all business stakeholders, becoming instrumental in supporting and developing our residential mortgage offering.
The Company
This revolutionary business plans to transform the mortgage banking sector by developing a digital platform that will use the latest RegTech and Data Science to assess and underwrite borrowers. As well as providing a digital platform, this business has secured a European wide Banking License and plans on developing its product portfolio over time.
Responsibilities:
Lead the development and implementation of the company's credit decision systems, risk controls and all policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements, group policies and business targets
Provide leadership on all credit decisions focusing on residential mortgages lending
Serving as the principal advisor to the CEO and Board of Directors on all issues associated with lending strategies, credit risk management, and mortgage lending Provide an independent view regarding proposed business plans and transactions and credit facilities
Guide teams, ensuring they follow the set policies including credit risk
Lead portfolio monitoring of new and existing clients Lead the production of all credit MI for group purposes providing in-depth loan book analysis
The Ideal Candidate:
Proven ability to lead a department - motivating management style, and formulating an effective results-driven team
Strong understanding of retail credit analysis and policies
Good understanding of retail credit risk management principles
Practical experience of the evolving regulatory guidelines in the residential mortgages space
Possess strong problem solving skills (hypothesis-driven thinking, analytical, quantitative, conceptual skills)
Experience in assessing capital adequacy and monitoring liquidity
Driven to constantly question the status quo, test new tools and ways of thinking, measure the results, and learn from the experiences
