Our client, a leading commercial real estate investor, seeks a seasoned CPA/Finance & Tax Director to work directly with the CFO and CEO. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tax and estate planning, trusts, and managing financial affairs for high-net-worth individuals. You will be taking over this role from a retiring person who will be ready to help you transition over a 3-6 month period.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with the CFO and CEO on financial and tax strategies.
- Manage and oversee all tax-related activities, including federal and state tax returns, estate taxes, and trust taxes.
- Provide expert guidance on financial planning for high net worth individuals.
- Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Conduct financial analysis and tax research to support business decisions.
- Represent the company before IRS and state tax authorities, providing power of attorney as needed.
- Ensure multi-state tax compliance for individuals, estates, trusts, and partnerships.
- Implement tax-saving strategies and manage cost segregation studies.
Qualifications:
- CPA license in good standing.
- 10-15 years of experience in commercial real estate operations.
- Proven expertise in tax planning and estate management.
- Strong understanding of financial statements and tax reporting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with tax software and financial management tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Yardi Voyager, MS Excel, HUD financial audits, ATX Kleinrock tax preparation, and Audit32 trial balance programs.
