Job Description

A new and exciting role to work for a leading Fund Management Company as a Deputy MLRO Officer with respect to UCITS and AIF clients. In addition, the job will entail comprehensively identifying, assessing, monitoring, and managing money laundering risk in accordance with the nature, scope, and complexity of its clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Taking care of the MLRO function's day-to-day operations within the fund management organization.
  • Contribute to the creation, launch, maintenance, and revision of AML policies, AML risk assessment frameworks, and/or clients.
  • Give guidance and support on adhering to AML regulations and related issues.
  • Inform the board and management of any AML risk exposures.
  • Regularly prepare and provide AML reports to Directors and the Head of Compliance on AML compliance
  • Work together and coordinate with internal stakeholders as well as regulatory authorities and other external parties as necessary;
  • Reviewing and ontrograting technical approaches to help both new and existing business efforts;
  • Undertaking due diligence on clients and potential clients;
  • Maintaining, updating and overseeing an effective AML compliance monitoring program;
  • Monitoring changes in applicable laws and regulations and providing guidance in relation to implementation.

Qualifications

  • A third-level degree in a relevant subject (business, finance, law, or an equivalent) and/or a compliance qualification;
  • 5+ years of experience in an AML position, preferably in a ManCo or MiFID firm;
  • A thorough understanding of AML laws and regulations;
  • A strong ability to recognise and assess AML risk;
  • An understanding of behaviours and business practices of clients and potential clients;
  • Having the knowledge and expertise necessary to confidently make decisions;
  • Analytical approach and attention to detail with good organisational skills are important;
  • the capacity to lead, inspire, and build a team
  • Strength of character and a willingness to individually challenge collective thinking; and
  • Strong communication skills including an ability to concisely articulate alternative views under pressure.
