Cluster Financial Controller

Our client is one of the hospitality/hotel sectors' more dynamic and fast growing participants.
Having accelerated growth significantly post-Covid, the firm have embarked on a simultaneous asset acquiring and new hotel construction spree.
As such, the firm seeks to appoint a Cluster Financial Controller (Cluster FC) and assistant FCs to a range of its hotels to support that fantastic growth.
The role, simply put, are unique:
Unlike many of its competitors, the client actually has finance subject matter expertise sitting in each hotel supporting the General Managers, the Regional Financial Controller, and wider hotel management. This presents a first-hand opportunity to see the inner workings of a hotel business and provide a high degree of strategic support to business leadership.
The FC (and assistant FCs) will be responsible for the effective operation of the finance functions within the hotels allocated to them.
A high degree of accounting controls and compliance will be expected as well as high levels of integrity around reporting standards and timelines.
Working alongside the Regional Financial Controller, the appointment will set up and maintain clear and well-defined plans which will include - sound cost and revenue management, challenging the cost structures where appropriate via comparison analysis across the wider hotel group, and managing a range of KPIs.
Being commercially astute, being able to craft stories relating to financial data, and communicating effectively with a range of business stakeholders - will be paramount to the success of this role. Having a first-class reporting process in place allows for the FC and assistant FCs to spend more of their time engaging with the business to support them in key decision-making for the group, and a shift away from more traditional roles in this space.
