​Giles Daubeney brings an unparalleled wealth of experience and expertise to our team at Phoenix. With a distinguished career spanning over three decades in the recruitment and search industry, Giles has demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic acumen.

Giles began his illustrious career at Accountancy Selection Limited and Badenoch & Clark Limited, before joining Robert Walters plc in 1998. At the time, Robert Walters was a single-office operation with 34 employees. Over the next 26 years, Giles played a pivotal role in transforming Robert Walters into a global powerhouse with 2,500 employees across 24 countries. His contributions were instrumental in the company’s first flotation in 1996, its sale to Staffmark Inc. in 1998, and its subsequent refloating in 2000. He was actively involved in key acquisitions in Australia and China, significantly expanding the company’s global footprint.

Giles held several key positions at Robert Walters, including Chief Operating Officer in 1999 and Deputy CEO in 2016. His leadership extended beyond operational excellence, focusing on strategic growth, innovation, and sustainability. He has been recognized for his ability to navigate complex commercial landscapes, drive business evolution, and deliver substantial shareholder returns.

In addition to his executive roles, Giles has served as a Non-Executive Director, Chair, and CEO on various PLC boards. At Phoenix, Giles leverages his extensive background to support our strategic vision in adapting to rapidly changing markets, ensuring resilience, and achieving long-term value for all stakeholders.

Giles joined Phoenix as Chairman in May 2022, and his support of our strategic vision has been invaluable to date.
