1. Tell us a bit about yourself Orlaith - what's your background?
I am originally from Limerick. I completed a BA in New Media & English and an MSc in Marketing, Consumption & Society; both from the University of Limerick.
My background is in Sales and Marketing, in which I have gained a number of years experience. I have always been interested in the people side of business and finding out what inspires them. I believe that an integral component of any job search is the ability to market oneself and present your strongest attributes effectively. My background facilitates me to help people put their best foot forward when searching for their ideal career.
2. Why did you join the recruitment industry?
I have always been passionate about finding a career that is congruent with my own personal values. In recruitment, I have the opportunity to help people fulfil their full potential, while building long-lasting relationships. Relationship-building was always my favourite feature of marketing and I have loved interacting with people throughout my work life. I seek to understand people, to find the perfect fit for both candidate and client.
3. What makes the #PhoenixFamily different?
As one of the newest members of the family, what attracted me was one of Phoenix's primary goals of humanising the industry, in addition to the opportunity to learn as much as possible alongside a team of professionals who are all specialists in their given field. Everyone is extremely welcoming, providing extensive training and support.
Observing how my colleagues interact with both candidates and clients has made me realise I made the right decision to join this team. It is clear that each member has a high aptitude for listening, understanding and acquiring top talent. Everyone collaborates together to help achieve collective objectives, both short-term and long-term, which motivates me.
4. What do you consider your biggest achievement to date?

5. What's the best piece of advice you've been given that you share with candidates?
It might sound cheesy, but believe and you can achieve! Once you put your mind to something and really believe in yourself and your ability, you can go the extra mile. Another piece of advice that I like to live by is to do everything with kindness.
