In this role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our finance systems, as well as contribute to ongoing improvement projects. Your expertise in IT and accounting systems will be crucial as you collaborate with various stakeholders to optimise our financial processes.
As an IT Financial Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for:
- Administering Aderant Expert, eBilling Hub, BillFiler, and ViewPoint systems to ensure they meet the evolving needs of our business.
- Providing responsive support to fee earners, secretaries, HR, BD, and finance staff, addressing their queries and concerns.
- Assisting in evaluating upgrades, patches, and fixes to maintain system integrity.
- Contributing to the successful delivery of Finance and IT projects.
- Ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial systems by performing routine tasks such as month-end processing.
- Conducting comprehensive quality assurance at every stage of systems development.
- Identifying and documenting user requirements for systems in production to enhance usability.
- Analysing workflows and developing efficient procedures and processes for stakeholders. Collaborating with application managers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Documenting processes, procedures, and policies as mandated by the firm's management and auditors.
- Coordinating with third-party support providers and IT to resolve logged issues.
- Generating ad-hoc reports for business applications.
- Creating and executing T-SQL scripts and stored procedures.
- Supporting ongoing Finance Systems projects and contributing to the review and enhancement of current working practices.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:
To excel in this role, we are seeking candidates with the following qualifications and attributes:
- 3+ years of accounting systems experience in a law firm or professional services environment, demonstrating a strong foundation in IT and financial systems.
- Effective communication skills, enabling interaction with stakeholders at various levels within the organisation while demonstrating sound judgement.
- Proficiency in SQL/SSRS, with the ability to independently run queries, and a willingness to acquire additional skills through internal and external training.
- Experience with Aderant Expert, ViewPoint, Elite 3E, Enterprise, or other PMS systems is highly desirable.
- Exceptional discretion, sensitivity, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring a high level of accuracy in all tasks.
