Senior Regulatory Counsel- Ireland Lead

  • Work closely with the Irish Country Lead in a true Legal Business Partner capacity. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Advise on relevant legal and regulatory issues.Carry out horizon scanning and update the business as appropriate.

  • Advise on any consumer queries, complaints, disputes and relevant solutions.

  • Establish and maintain robust AML policies and procedures. Act as the organisation’s MLRO and carry out relevant reporting.

  • Devise, implement, and maintain relevant legal compliance and regualtory policies and procedures.

  • Liaise with the Central Bank and any other relevant regulatory authority as appropriate, addressing any queries and/or information requests.

  • Maintain relationships with relevant regulatory authorities as appropriate.  

  • Prepare and deliver relevant regulatory reports to the business.

  • Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders across the Group, both legal and non-legal as appropriate.

  • Work closely with the Country Lead in a trusted business partner capacity to assist in the establishment and scaling of this strategic Irish operation, advising on relevant legal and regulatory issues.

  • Advise on relevant ad hoc legal issues and assist with relevant projects as appropriate. 

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified lawyer, minimum 6 years’ PQE.

  • Experience in a commercial law firm and/or relevant in-house function.

  • Knowledge of the relevant Irish consumer protection legal and regulatiory regime, and experience advising on same. 

  • Prior track record liaising with the Central Bank or similar regulatory authority advantageous.

  • Superb communication and presentation skills - oral and written. 

  • Self-motivated with a proven ability to work well on own initiative.

  • Proven ability to successfully interact and influence relevant stakeholders - internal and external.  

  • Commercial, solutions-focused, with a positive approach.
