The Client:


I'm partnering with one of the world's largest manufacturers of electric heating solutions to assist them in their search for a Data Protection Lead to join their team to manage the continued development and implementation of the Data Protection Framework across the group.


The Opportunity:

  • Reporting into and working with the Chief Operating Officer (COO)
  • Join a fast-paced, commercial environment, with the opportunity to work with key stakeholders within the business
  • act as the primary contact point between the group and the Data Protection Commission
  • You will be responsible for mitigating data protection risk
  • ensure that all data protection policies and procedures are kept in line with all regulatory developments

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop and maintain the ongoing data protection framework
  • Lead and develop training programmes ensuring staff understand the practical implications for their business areas and the risks associated with data processing operations
  • Responsible for reporting subject access requests, and reporting to external DPO
  • Support senior management in defining strategic actions to support data protection
  • Assist business areas in deciding if a DPIA should be undertaken and assist with conducting DPIAs
  • Managing Data Subject Access Requests and advising Departments on the process
  • Monitor and understand key trends and issues both internally and externally, and identify opportunities for improvement in processes


The Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years of experience in Data Protection, Data Management, Audit or Risk Management in previous roles
  • Qualification in Data Protection such as CIPP, CDPO, CIPM or equivalent is preferable
  • Previous experience supporting GDPR Article 30 requirements preferable
  • Engaging with business and/or IT management to understand and document the business processes, data flows, controls, and business needs
