**Construction Associate (Professional Indemnity) London**
I am currently working with a renowned London Construction Insurance team on a Construction Associate role dealing with Professional Indemnity. The team sits in the firm's top-ranked Insurance Group.
This is an exceptional opportunity to gain exposure to a well-established client base within the market including a great portion of the market's Professional Indemnity insurers along with a plethora of the UK's largest contractors and construction consultancies. Additionally, this is a great opportunity to gain experience by working alongside partners and senior associates on a varied and challenging workload.
The team handles varied claims against construction-related professionals including engineers, architects, quantity surveyors, project managers, design and build contractors and surveyors.
You will be defending liability claims both pre and post litigation, providing advice / representation on associated matters such as adjudication, disciplinary proceedings, arbitration and risk management. The team you will be working with frequently advises insurers on policy coverage aspect of claims.
Responsibilities:
- Management of a caseload of construction professional indemnity claims, including coverage issues
- Delivering high quality and timely output to clients, ensuring the highest levels of client service and alignment with agreed working practices and client service level agreements
- Contributing to the development and improvement of the team's service, support, processes and procedures
- Demonstrating the values and behaviours that for which the team is known and keep it client-focused
- Working to develop an environment of constant improvement: enthusiastically sharing with and helping others; and taking responsibility for aspects of team development, such as intranet pages, training and induction, process improvements etc.
- Capturing and collating required Management Information in accordance with agreed practice for clients
- Will have the opportunity to arrange and attend client events.
About you:
- NQ - 5 years PQE
- The candidate should have construction litigation experience; experience of insurance is desirable but not essential.
- A good knowledge of legal procedures
- Excellent communications skills (both orally and in writing)
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and adapt plans accordingly
- Be able to demonstrate good initiative and problem solving skills, but be conscious of when to consult others
