The Client:

An Irish multinational retailer with Headquarters in Dublin is looking to hire a Compliance Manager to join their team to assist with managing, developing and maintaining the ongoing data protection compliance programme.

The Opportunity:

  • Reporting into and working with the Global Compliance Manager & Data Protection Officer

  • You will be responsible for mitigating data protection risk and other general compliance areas
  • Play a critical role in ensuring that the retailer maintains requirements for compliance with data protection laws

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage, develop and maintain the ongoing data protection compliance programme
  • Lead and develop training programmes for current and new employees across 13 regions
  • Responsible for reporting subject access requests, and reporting to DPO
  • Support senior management in defining strategic actions to support compliance & data protection
  • Manage and develop the compliance communications strategy
  • Responsible for activity area within Legal Compliance including day to day organisation of the work of the team and subject matter expert on all activities and processes
  • Monitor and understand key trends and issues both internally and externally, and identify opportunities for improvement in processes


The Ideal Candidate:

  • 5+ years of People Management experience in previous roles
  • Qualification in Data Protection such as CIPP, CDPO, CIPM or equivalent.
  • Experience managing data protection programmes and matters within an international organisation including reviewing new market initiatives, data subject requests, incidents and breaches
  • Experience working across multiple jurisdictions advising on Compliance topics
