The Client:

An Irish multinational retailer with Headquarters in Dublin is looking to hire a Compliance Specialist to join their team to assist with the development, delivery and maintenance of the ongoing data protection compliance programme.

The Opportunity:

  • Reporting into and working directly with the Compliance Manager
  • Join a fast-paced, commercial environment, with the opportunity to work with key stakeholders within the business
  • You will be responsible for maintaining requirements for compliance with data protection laws and supporting senior management in defining actions to support compliance
  • Play a critical role in promoting awareness across the business of GDPR compliance obligations and advise on policies and procedures

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, deliver and maintain the ongoing data protection compliance programme
  • Responsible for assessing projects for GDPR risks, building in data privacy considerations for projects that process personal data
  • Support key data protection processes for breach management and data subject access requests
  • Act as an SME focal point for information requests regarding Compliance & Data Protection
  • Assist with identifying and supporting the resolution of risks
  • Responsible for conducting risk assessments and reporting on findings
  • Monitor and understand key trends and issues both internally and externally, and identify opportunities for improvement in processes


The Ideal Candidate:

  • 3+ years experience in compliance or a legal setting
  • Qualification in Compliance and/or Data Protection
  • Extensive knowledge of data protection concepts, principles, regulation and legislation, including an in-depth understanding of the General Data Protection Regulation and Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations
  • Experience working across multiple jurisdictions advising on Compliance topics
