The Company

My client is a small accounting practice who specialise in Accounting and Business Advisory Services to Ireland's SME market. The firm requires an experienced Audit Manager to lead the external audit team as it grows in the coming years. The successful candidate will work closely with Directors and Partners and enjoy great client exposure across a range of industries.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with clients to ensure and confirm progress, identify solutions to any hurdles, and ensure reasonable expectations are met.

  • Responsible to assist junior staff to ensure to plan, monitor and review their work

  • Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and queries

  • Communicate with the client in relation to progress and identify solutions to any hurdles, and ensure reasonable expectations are met.

  • Perform work in accordance with audit and assignment procedures.

  • Understand and appreciate key commercial aspects of the client’s business.

  • Attendance in courses, technical reading, attending client meetings.

  • Lead team-wide meetings, assign tasks and workloads to employees, and foster collaboration among teams and across departments

  • Actively listen to employees and pass on any questions or concerns to the appropriate people

  • Manage deadlines, timelines, and employee schedules

The Ideal Candidate:

  • ACCA/ACA/CPA qualified or equivalent

  • 4+ years audit and accounting experience gained within a professional services firm or industry, ability to organise and plan effectively and ensure deadlines are met.

  • Very strong technical accounting skills

  • Strong communication skills & relationship-building skills with clients, directors, staff and other professionals.

  • Ability to manage several projects/tasks at once

  • Drive to develop skills in business development, have awareness of key business drivers and the commercial pressures affecting clients.
